2011 ALHeLA Annual Meeting

You are cordially invited to the 2011 Annual Meeting of the Alabama Health Libraries Association to be held at the Troy University Montgomery Campus in downtown Montgomery, Alabama, November 3-4, 2011.

On Thursday afternoon, ALHeLA is pleased to offer the CE course "So You Have to Weed Your Collection: What to Do with All That Stuff" by Michael Flannery.

Our speaker on Friday morning is Dr. Cheryl A. Plettenberg of the Alabama State University Department of Health Information Management. Her talk is titled, "Timely Topics in Health Information Management: What Librarians Need to Know."

All events will be held on the Troy University Montgomery Campus in downtown Montgomery. Directions to the Rosa Parks Library are available on the Troy Montgomery website. Registration and the breakfast reception will be held in the Rosa Parks Library meeting room on the 2nd floor. The continuing education class and presentation will be held in the Rosa Parks Library classroom on the 2nd floor. The banquet/business meeting will be held in the Civic Room of Whitley Hall on the 1st floor. Whitley Hall is across Montgomery Street from the Library next to the Davis Theatre.

Because the Montgomery Campus is a non-traditional campus, parking during the day on campus should not be a problem. However, carpooling is recommended for those who will not be remaining on campus between the end of the CE and beginning of the banquet. There is a parking lot behind the library building and across Molton Street from the library. Additional parking information will be distributed before the meeting.

The Rosa Parks Museum is located on the 1st floor of the Rosa Parks Library and Museum building. Tours of the permanent collection are available Monday through Saturday. The Museum currently has the exhibit "Paintings and Words: The Art of Althea Thomas."
