An ALHeLA-based research group led by Megan Bell has recently released a report about the results of their 2024 survey of Alabama Public Librarians designed to learn about their training preferences, types of health information requests they receive, and demographic information about them. The project, funded by a Southern Chapter / Medical Library Association Research Grant, will continue this year with focus groups to deepen our understanding of the needs of public librarians as they support health literacy in their communities.
