The 25 th Annual Meeting of ALHeLA will be held
on November 13 th - 15 th on the campus of Auburn University .
Several great events and continuing education classes have been
planned. Our theme this year, “ Alabama health libraries: sharing
our knowledge”,
celebrates our association's 25 th anniversary.
This year's meeting reaffirms the association's goals “to strengthen
the professional skills of Alabama health information personnel
by providing opportunities for continuing education” and “to promote
the sharing of health science information resources and services
in Alabama ”.
Come early on Sunday, for a 2 pm tour of the newly renovated Cary
Veterinary Medical Library. At 2:45 pm, we'll leave from the library
and go to the Southeastern Raptor center for a tour. From 5 – 6pm,
a welcome reception will be held in the Fireplace Lounge at the
AU Hotel & Conference Center.
On Monday, November 14 th , two important CE's are planned. From
8 am – 12 noon, “Proving your worth” with Michelynn McKnight will
be held. And Sheila Snow-Croft will teach the new CE course “Public
health information on the web” from 1 pm – 5 pm. On Tuesday, November
15 th , we will hold our business meeting; have a speaker from
the AU College of Veterinary Medicine, followed by a panel discussion
and enjoy a luncheon.
Never has the time been more important for health science libraries
to take what they've learned and share that information with others.
